Visa requirements overview

As of 1 January 2023, the Republic of Croatia is a full member of the Schengen Area, and the Schengen acquis is fully applicable. Croatia applies the common EU visa regime.

Schengen visas (Types A and C) and national long-stay visas (Type D) are issued by Croatian diplomatic missions and consular offices. Time spent in the Republic of Croatia counts towards the total permitted stay within the Schengen Area. Third-country nationals, whether visa-required or visa-exempt, may stay in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Participants are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with visa and entry requirements applicable to their nationality. Participants who require an entry visa are strongly advised to start the application process well in advance.

For official and up-to-date information on visa requirements and procedures, please consult the website of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs: https://mvep.gov.hr/
