PRESENTATIONS ON THE PLENARY SESSION

We have planned 30 minutes for the keynote speaker’s presentation and 5-10 minutes for short discussion after each keynote presentation. If there will be any free time left at the end of the plenary session it can be spent on a round table about the topics related to the keynote presentations.

Organisers will contact the keynote speakers related to the technical issues and preparation.

The keynote presentations will be streamed live on the Internet.

PRESENTATIONS ON THE SESSIONS ORGANIZED BY TOPIC

Presentation time

Topic-oriented sessions are scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. For each paper in a podium session, 15 minutes will be allocated for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion, changeover and chair's introduction.

Session chairs will strictly keep the presentation schedule in order to enable switching of the audience between the sessions.

Please check in advance the date, time and venue of your presentation. All the presenters should contact their session Chair at the allocated session room 15 minutes before the session commences.

Presentation equipment

All the rooms for topic-oriented sessions are equipped with a projector and a computer loaded with Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Recommended display aspect ratio is 16:9 and screen resolution of 1366 x 768.

An audio-visual assistant will also be present to answer any technical queries you may have regarding your presentation and you will have an opportunity to run through your presentation material.

Please take care that you have the presentation with you on USB stick, and upload your presentation on the presentation computer before the session starts. Assistants will provide all necessary help.

Having ready the second copy of your presentation on another media at hand is a good way to avoid potential troubles. In case you have any technical issues please contact staff in DESIGN 2018 computer room. They will help you.

If you need any special software or hardware for the presentation (such as speakers, video player, etc.), please note us in advance by email. Otherwise, we may not be able to help you on the site.

Please note: All the presentations during conference session should run from the conference computers. We discourage any switching of computers during sessions. If you believe that your computer is the only option, please contact staff in computer room well in advance to find the proper solution. Otherwise switching of computers during the session will not be possible.

CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS AND MEETINGS

The workshops should broaden the discussion and come to generally agreed statements about topic.

PLEASE NOTE that workshop Chairs will structure and adapt the general workshop format. The workshop discussion will be summarized in the Workshop Notes by Chairs and published on the conference web site and The Design Society SIGs pages (if workshops is organised by DS SIG).

All the rooms for workshop sessions are equipped with a projector and a computer loaded with Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Recommended display aspect ratio is 16:9 and screen resolution of 1366 x 768.

It will be helpful that your ideas and issues you would raise to discussion could be summarized in leaflets that could be left at the side for others to discuss/access. Further details should be discussed with workshop Chairs.
